: cross-section of the ABS pipe cut at the proper angle. Then I'll glue the
: pipe in position through the deck using thickened epoxy. I'll then need to
: cut the pipe flush to the outside of the deck.

: I'm aware of two different styles of flush cutting hand saws: the English
: offset style with a stiff blade, which I believe cuts on a push stroke;
: and the Japanese style, some of which are flexible and all cut on the pull
: stroke. I'm attracted to the Japanese flush cutting pull saw, but I'd
: appreciate some thoughts or recommendations from the board before I dive
: into this project.

Hi Jim, I used the stiff back saw for a while. Once I got a japanese pull saw I put the other away and haven't used it since. The japanese saw has a very fine serated blade that easily, quickly, and cleanly handles most of my cutting needs. It is extreamly versitile. I highly recommend it.
