: We started a group boatbuilding project at our club boat shop yesterday.
: We are building a Pygmy Wineglass Wherry, a very pretty s&g rowing/sailing
: skiff.
: We all read the plans, and started laying out the butt joins.

: What Pygmy doesn't address in detail is the building of the mast,
: centerboard/daggerboard trunk, and rudder. I guess we'll have to look
: elsewhere to find appropriate plans.

Can't help you with those plans, but I built a Caravelle S&G 15' sailboat. The box is pretty simple, just be sure and make your centerboard first so you will not be guessing at the finished thickness. My first centerboard was too weak and I added 18 oz 6" wide bias to both sides down the spar area. This added about .100" thickness per side and I had to sand it down a lot to make it fit my centerboard box, it still sticks sometimes the first time we go sailing.
: Does anyone have a source of plans for these items? I guess they could easily
: be adapted from another boat. We also will contact Pygmy to see what they
: suggest.

: We will be getting a sail kit from Sail Rite, and one of our builders has an
: industrial sewing machine for that. We also will be looking for a source
: for the oars too.
