Hi

One good thing would be to connect the trunk: foreward to the fore deck, and aft to the transverse bench of your little boat, in such a way that the trunk would reinforce the general structure.
I consider fitting the fore part of the trunk to the mast pit (mast foot?).
You may want to go to sites such as Uncle John's (small boat kits for sale, and some pics) and Duckworks (idem), or the free-to-download Minicup plans from Stevenson Designs.

You could drill a little hole through the lee board in order to fit a peg into it to hold the board in an uplift posish.
You may choose a drop-in board (easier) or a jack-the-knife.
Aluminium or wood.

Cheers

Eric

: Hi All-

: We started a group boatbuilding project at our club boat shop yesterday.
: We are building a Pygmy Wineglass Wherry, a very pretty s&g rowing/sailing
: skiff.
: We all read the plans, and started laying out the butt joins.

: What Pygmy doesn't address in detail is the building of the mast,
: centerboard/daggerboard trunk, and rudder. I guess we'll have to look
: elsewhere to find appropriate plans.
: Does anyone have a source of plans for these items? I guess they could easily
: be adapted from another boat. We also will contact Pygmy to see what they
: suggest.

: We will be getting a sail kit from Sail Rite, and one of our builders has an
: industrial sewing machine for that. We also will be looking for a source
: for the oars too.

: Thanks in advance for any help-
