Hi there.

I've been real pleased with the Aqua Meter Sailor II; the local price seems to be in the $50 range. It has a flat bottom for easy mounting to your choice of platform. I recommend the sticky tape mounting method rather than the gasketed screws that come with it. With a bit of effort, you can snap it off the base for safe storage or to move to another base (available for about $10).

This compass does not come with any lighting features or internal adjustments, but it's well made and easy to read at middle distances.
