Only 1/32" Penetration ???.....

Now we're getting somewhere, this board is better than some people think!! You guys are sharp and are good at thinking for yourselves.

Like Nick and Severne have said for example:"I got the answer to my immediate {question} but I plan on more detailed questions when I get to my next boat."

".....there may be some bugs to work out that the distributor is completely ignorant of."

This subject is far from understood as applied to strippers. I have looked a some (so far) of the info being presented here and elsewhere and although I am more informed, I still have (like Severne) more need for the "real" info before I would put this on my boat.

One thing I did just learn on wood restoration.com from Steve Smith (owner, inventer, head cheese). In his technical information report he states that tests show CPES will penetrate 2" on end grain and {ONLY} 1/32" on side grain. If this "inventor" and "tester" of CPES says his product will only seal the first 1/32" of the side grain of raw wood in the application we are most interested in .... Then I cannot see that it (with all the other unknowns) is WORTH IT ! I mean it seems to me that the "Clear Coat" will penetrate the side grain that far (1/32"). Am I missing something with this figure in his research? Why bother using CPES if it's penetration is (according to the "inventor") only 1/32"?
