Well, he sure admits there is a residue present during/after cure. If i used CPES I would wash this c.rap off. He says it won't "bone brake" but.... Hey I have worked in building a long time so I am familiar with the way it is in the real world sometimes. I remember when I was just a little ambitious cub helping a plasterer who was mixing "Hot mud" for some interior patch work. He was able to fix so much damage quickly and easily that I wanted to learn too, so I asked him how to mix it. He just said, "No big deal" Then later I tried and tried to get him to just TELL me how much water to add so I would know how to mix this stuff up in the future. But he insisted that he couldn't give me the exact amount, that he just added water till "It felt right". At the time I thought he was just not wanting to tell me, even though it was something so simple for him. Now I understnad what he meant, and I too mix by feel AFTER having some experience (I can mix by a formal method, but this way is easier for small batches). Lots of things are like that. But i know now that the truth is that this guy wasn't real sharp because it is no big deal if one understands plaster ("Hot mud") to tell someone an approximate formal amount of water to add. So the real answer was "feel" is easier (that's all he knew) but you could go by the rule of "put water in a container to half the amount of plaster you want to end up with and then just keep adding the plaster until the mix is firm. "That is what i would tell a young apprentice if he asked me. So the reason I put this long story in here now is because I do not know everything, but I DO know MY field (like many here KNOW their field outside of this "hobby")a little so I am amazed that Mr. Smith does not just LAY OUT POINT BY POINT ALL THE RELELVANT POINTS OF USING THIS PRODUCT AS WE INTEND. I am not mad at all, it's kinda funny really. I mean he "invented" the stuff like more than 25 years ago for corn sake you think he'd know this stuff in his sleep by now.... Why not just lay it out (I mean if you asked me a month ago how to build a cockpit coaming, I could have said, well you laminate it. But now after almost finishing it, I could go through the important points and methods easily. In fact I know so much more now that as good as mine is now I wish I could start it all over again now, just because I could do such a better job faster now ( and that is only after ONE experience). Anyway this is getting funny ..... I mean I guess this stuff isn't rocket science. It seems more like brain surgery, Ha, ha. Thanks Pete, Paul, everyone who helps this thread see what we can come up with.
