In Response To: Only 1/32" Penetration ???..... (Joe)
See Wooden Boat Magazine Issue #160 May/June 2001. I was just looking at it this morning. Robb White builds remarkably strong/light boats by effectively reversing the outgassing effect in curing epoxy. He heats his shop to 130F degrees until the boat is that temperature. Then switches on the Air Conditioner and starts applying epoxy. The article says he throws as much on as the wood will accept... cross sections of the treated wood look like they've been vacuum-bagged.
I would never go to that extreme... but would love to own a boat built that way.
