: As I strip the hull of my Night Heron, I can see some very small gaps between
: some of the strips. These gaps are maybe a 1/32" wide and can only be
: seen from an angle while looking down at the hull. I'm using cove and bead
: strips so I can't see through the hull. Is this normal as one strips the
: hull? And should I be trying to fill these with glue as I see them? Or
: should I not worry about it and just keep stripping and fill these after I
: sand?
Don't worry about them. With bead and cove you won't be able to see light through the joints, but instead you'll see wood, slightly recesed, in between the strips. Some of those "gap" may dissapear when you sand and fair the hull. At the same time, you may sand off a bit too much of some coves, and create similar situations in other areas.
When the glass and resin are applied that slight recess gets filled in and the joint looks just fine.
