Turk's Head drip rings

After tying a few Turk's Heads I've decided to use them and leave them soft (no epoxy or varnish) for three reasons.
I can easily replace them if they get too grungy.
They can be slid on the shaft to adjust locations.
They're soft and won't bang up the shear.
They look good.
Thanks for the suggestions.
