: All that cutting has made my saws pretty dull. I used my Japanese pull saw to
: miter my feature strip and my dovetail saw to repair all the points of
: failure Now, they are both pretty @%*& dull. I've spotted the
: required material: files, sets, books, videos, Web sites... Anyone want to
: steer me in the right direction?
: I don't mind taking time to do it the right way; what I don't need is a lot
: of wasted time/money doing it the wrong way Any tips would be
: appreciated.
The dovetail job should be tiny and tedious but doable from instructions. But the Japanese pull saw, that's a totally different beast. There are about 5 angles on each tooth, and the spacing changes along the length of the blade. I gave up and bought a new blade rather than get bogged down in sharpening it. The whole saw was about $22, and the new blade was about $20, but whatchgonnado?
