A local vendor has a shipment of 1088 Okoume that has a slightly thicker inner core than usual so it's a bit stiffer. He said it's ideal for building a chined boat that doesn't have a lot of curve to it. Doesn't need to be as flexible if you aren't going to torture the heck out of it, I guess, and it gives you a stiffer boat, which I assume is a good thing.

I haven't received the plans yet for the Kipawa II S&G canoe I'm planning to build with it (and even if I had the plans probably couldn't address the issue intelligently) so I don't know if this plywood will be a good fit for this canoe or not. If not, I can wait for his next shipment or get it elsewhere.

The web site, greenval.com, only has a drawing of the canoe to go by and I can't tell much from it, being a first timer. Any opinions?
