At 9:00 PM I started working on the boat again. I cut all the wires and pulled them out. I did not have any trouble pulling the wires out. Then I mixed epoxy with wood flour and started patching seams. Things went well. I also mixed a thicker compound and tried to shape the bow edge so that it looked better. Unfortunately when I checked on the work in the morning I found out that gravity is real. Most of the epoxy gooped off the bow edge. I will try to use a wood filler tonight to shape the bow. It will be ok since I plan on painting the outside hull white.

: In the morning I got my wife down the basement and with her help we flipped
: the wherry over so that I can seal the seams on the bottom.

: backfired when I tried to take it apart and a rubber piece of the push pin
: separated and lodged inside. It might have been that the paint thinner did
: a number on it over night or because it was defective or something else.

: So I took the second syringe, mixed epoxy and started sealing the seams.
: Besides my back aching; this process is fun. To see the hull in it's
: entirety is exciting. This boat has really nice curves. No wonder most
: boats have female names. I mixed just enough epoxy for the seams although
: the last syringe was very slow as the epoxy started to thicken. I will
: wait until tonight before I try to cut and remove the wires. Then I will
: mix epoxy with wood flour and try to fill all the cracks that liquid epoxy
: failed to seal.

: I'm about ready to head out of the house to go skiing. I will stop by another
: hardware store on the way. Maybe I'll pick up some cheap clamps. I'm also
: re-thinking the PVC clamping. I might do it after all. Let's see what hits
: me first.
