I've become very fond of cord and sliding toggles for deck lines, in the Greenland tradition. Having a bungee or two across the deck is handy for stashing small, light items, but when it comes to really securing something to the deck, bungees don't cut it. Cord and toggles provide a much more secure grip. This is true of paddle float re-entry rigging, too.
