: I used System 3 Clear Coat on my first boat and it took a long time to
: harden. I never knew if it was me or what; it wasn't the cold. Eventually
: it did fully harden after about a week as I recall. I wouldn't do anything
: drastic yet - it will harden as long as you mixed it properly. Scraping it
: now would just turn things from bad to worse.
I always watch my ratio and mixing too!!!! Simple, but what a $#^^*(%$$ if you get it wrong !!! I sealed and glassed my deck yesterday with System3 Clear Coat. All together it was about 9 or 10 "batches". This moring the boat looks great and ALL my "sample cups" have set up EXCEPT for the last one!! Luckily it was the last one and i only used it to "touch up" in 2 places. I can't figure it, becuase my method was so simple (marked measure cups) and I did the SAME method all the way through. But I must have SOMEHOW screwed one up!! But don't see how. Luckily even these small areas are setting up now (Whew!). I don't have an answer for "fixing" this bad mix/not setting up problem other than AVOID it, and I sure TRY!!! Hope you get some more advice and it sets up better with time. If not I have heard from System 3 that the only answer is to remove it (sand/scrape).
