I liked them so well on Brian's boat that I retrofitted them on my Guillemot. Got lucky on the original fitting configuration. You slide the toggles toward the center to loosen them, outward to tighten. They work just great with unfeathered Greenland paddles, no paddle float necessary. These toggles are 3/4" hardwood dowels with 1/4" holes, and will be replaced with something more elegant now that they are demonstrated to work on this boat. The rear deck has some camber, so the paddle doesn't lie exactly flat, but it's close enough. The toggles will go wherever you put them, so off-center locks the paddle on one side of the deck. I'll figure out something later to protect the finish, maybe a longitudinal line between the fittings on each side.
