Today I glassed the right side of the hull. My wife helped me in this process. First we laid out the glass cloth, pinned it with masking tape, and lined it up with the sheer line. Straightening the cloth was not a difficult task. I thought it would be harder. Then we mixed up first batch of epoxy and laid it out from the middle. The manual calls for sqeegeeing epoxy after the coat has been rolled out.
Here is where I thought the trouble started. The coat looked great but when I started using the squeegee the cloth stretched out and created air pockets underneath the cloth in places where seams formed a 'valley'.
I tried to work the cloth and get rid of the bubbles but some pockets were just impossible to work out.
So the questions are:
What danger am I running into if I do have some air pockets underneath the cloth?
Should this be fixed during the next 'fill coat'?
Thank for any responses.
