: Well I decided to compare where I was last year while building my North Star
: Vs. this year building the wife's Shooting Star and I guess I'm not far
: off considering I started the NS in October vs starting the SS in January
: this year. I really enjoyed paddling the NS last summer but I didn't get
: to as much as I liked due to increasingly bad shoulder problem which I
: hope to get taken care of this year. Haven't had much time to visit here
: lately but it's just as good as always. Thanks for a great board Nick.
Steve-Great looking boats! What is the wood you used for the bow pieces of the Shooting Star? It's really purty! I've been planning to build a North Star since September but have also been sidelined with injuries (what a drag it is getting old); in the interim I've been studying up on your website, and have a few questions. How did you build the strongback? Looks like a steel beam down the middle. Looks like you've used different methods for stripping the hull of each boat; which is easier?
I remember from your site that you used 3/16" strips from Classic Boats; were they the parellel strips or the new classic strips? And, last but not least, how much does your NS weigh? Thanks for the cool website, I've learned a lot from it. Congratulations on a couple fine-looking boats.-Greg
