I would suspect the acetone. It is the only eliment in what you've discribed
the could have caused the problem. My epoxy maker (System Three) suggests
only using water and a scrub pad, NOTHING else. They told me most sovlents
are recycled and have many impurities that can cause problems with epoxy.

You can continue and HOPE there are only a few small areas effected or sand
it off and make sure it's right.
