I've done the same with some plywood,,it's one of those 6of one 1/2 dozen of the other issues, don't worry about the glass bonding to the cured sealing coat, with a quick light sanding it'll stick,,this epoxy is tenacious,,when there isn't blush. Make sure to spend the time lazily letting the cloth drape, don't pull it everywhere only to discover a sharp edge that it's hung on,,make sure to check for nicks on the spreaders before mixing the epoxy, 400grit sandpaper will take them off, rollers make putting epoxy on the exterior a little easier if you're shy or worry about dripping epoxy on the floor with the first batch, you can also control the amount of epoxy on the boat well that way.
CLC has a video and there's West Systems, there might be others but the glass and epoxy will tell you what works and doesn't in 5minutes and with slow epoxy you'll have time to learn as long as it's not 85+temps.
