Foam rollers are ideal for applying thin, drip-free fill coats. It may take a few more coats, but it's quick and painless. Roll out a section (2ft x 2ft), then use a foam brush (Polybrush) to knock-off any bubbles on the surface. I work pretty slowly, and it takes me about 20 minutes from mixing to peeling off the latex gloves.
