: Wow, what a site! It's the 3rd nite and I finally got to the end of the msgs.

What... all 59,659...(Shawn, you and Bill keeping track?) in 3 nights ??? Yeh, Wow!! And that's not including the archives.

Hi Jeff

: My question (for now) is this: I'd like to build a kayak to use mostly in
: salt water. Primarily in bay conditions but would also like to try the
: surf. It must be capable of adapting to my fishing addiction also. If
: there is one style that can accomplish ALL this and still be able to
: handle class II/III whitewater that would be my ideal. Any suggestions?

Not sure about your best possibilities as I'm fairly new to this and Whitewater is definitely not in my arsenal. Don't know the requirements, but I'm not sure that these strippers are best suited to that use. ??? I would think that fishing ( ocean ? ) and whitewater would be at opposite ends of the kayak spectrum. Just an opinion!

: I'm currently glassing my first strip canoe and already know I want to
: make a kayak. I'm using black walnut for my canoe (I got a

ton

Probably the most descriptive word I could think of for Black Walnut. Not usually a good selection for an entire boat. Not that it can't be done, but the weight might be a major factor.

of boards)
: and would probably use the same for the kayak. Every mention to this boat
: building being addictive is absolutley true!! You have a VERY good forum
: that I hope to use. Thanks!!

You just have...
