I built one of the early Arctic Terns, and the only thing I don't like about it is the peaked deck behind the cockpit. It is very uncomfortable to lay back on the deck. The new Terns and Cohos have a recessed deck that should make the boat perfect in my view, but I think the Osprey still has the peak. Perhaps someone of a different size might not find the peak uncomfortable. I am 6' but have a short torso and the bloody thing gets me right in the small of the back. If possible, try to paddle one before buying. I wrote to Pygmy and asked about the possibility of retrofitting the recessed part of the deck on my boat but they said it was impossible without replacing the entire deck. I'm not so sure though; maybe I'll give it a try some day. Anyone else given a retrofit some thought? By the way, I also have a CLC 16LT and find the flat deck much more comfortable, but I would not recommend one over the other; they're both great boats.
