Hi Joe, be sure to do a swatch test before you put any paint/stain on your boat. It's a simple precaution. Every now and then a builder gets "fish eyes"; the epoxy is repelled by an incompatible stain or solvent. I stained my first boat and got okay results (no contamination). For pinstripes you may be better off with a thin strip of natural wood. Check this picture http://www.cedarstrip.net/pics/c1.jpg The site www.cedarstrip.net explains (more of less) how he did it.
