The sillest PLS I get again and again are the one's that admire the poor thrifty yankee. Assuming you couldn't buy a "real boat". So you built a "cheap" one.... To bad it doesn't look like a real plastic one..... You could spray paint it like a cool yellow.....

Same theme different plot: Recently had a visitor to the shop, who wanted a boat on the cheap. Building in wood as a stripper looked like the way to go. Seemed real enthusastic. Was almost ready to loan him some space to start building..... Then asked about the possibility of Gel coating it in blue to give it that "cool plastic look." I almost hurled the block plane and my lunch. Oye Vey

To be honest most PLS is kind of fun. I just sort of have to keep a limit on it. SOme times being rude is tough. Its also chance to give the designer's names and strip rippers numbers to those who just might actually build one. Set folks up with contacts. Sell the addiction to the next boat addict. Last year I met a nun who actually thought about building one in her convent. People really are the show in this life.

Sometimes however, its just saying "Well I hope you have a great day in the sun shine, I need to catch this tide." Also mentioning you have reservations for twin lobsters at Robinsons Wharf or Perkins Cove in 4 hours is a good dis. People don't understand tides, but they do seem to understand lobsters.
