I don't know of any kits in skin on frame either, but you can build a fantastic boat from one of the books offered in kayaking. Robert Morris' Book: " Building Skin on Frame Boats " is a perfect example. I think some have built for less that $200 and Certainly can be done for under $300. You will be building the boat specifically to fit YOU! Using YOUR body to measure it out and you have many options as to material and finish, so the price will depend upon your choices. I don't know of any wood-boat kits that you could keep the price that low. On most, the glass and resin will cost you that much. Hope you can find something to your liking either way. Good Luck!
