Hi Patsy
I am presently useing 14 guage. Have used 16 guage, but found on the more difficult bends in the boat it tended to break when drawing parts together. The 14 guage worked well for all of the boat and came out easily when heated, after the fillets cured. I got it in bulk at the local Home Depot or hardware store. You can also find it in precut rolls, but it's a tad more expensive that way. I found folks very curious when I told them I was sewing a boat together with it.
