I'll put my less-than-two-cents worth in again. Lee's right that a Tern or Coho probably is more kayak than someone under 150 lbs needs for day paddling and learning. But the key word is "needs." That doesn't mean either model is more kayak than someone of that size can handle and enjoy. I'm 5' 6", well under 150 lbs, and have a great time in my full-sized Tern, even just day paddling, and without much additional weight in it.
