I cut mine with a jigsaw. Then I glued them up and did more shaping with an angle grinder. Final shape was with a shoulder plane. They worked out pretty well. I used Mac McCarthy's plans in "Featherweight Boatbuilding". Next time, if I don't do a Greenland paddle, I'll probably try the one in Nick's book.
