After removing the staples, portions of the deck have sprung back a bit from the shear. Straps can be used to bring the deck into contact with the hull shear.

While glassing the deck, is it necessary to have the deck contact the hull all along the shear? I’m concerned that it may be difficult to attach the deck to the hull if the deck is not in complete contact with the shear when it’s being glassed. If contact along the shear is necessary when glassing the deck, does anyone have suggestions on how to do it?
