: Hi,
: I am just about finished with sanding the hull interior. I did it all by hand
: and have used 40 grit so far. I had intended to do the final passes with
: 60 then 80 grit. But now I wonder if it would be better for penetration
: and grip to leave it with the 40 grit. I am not thinking of this to save
: the additional sanding but the finish at 40 grit is surprisingly smooth
: looking and I wanted to know if any of you guys think leaving the finish
: sanding before the seal coat at 40 grit is a good or bad idea ??? Hoping
: to get to sealin' this bad puppy tonight.... Thanks!
: Joe
Take a few minutes and run over with 60 grit just to knock down some some of the sanding lines a bit. Just a quick job should be fine. It most likely would be fine to leave as is, but any deeply cut grooves may appear as darker lines when epoxied. Then again, maybe this is of no concern to you on the interior.
