It was time to glass 1/2 of the hull on the inside. I spread my fiberglass cloth and attached it to the shear with C-Clamps. Then I tried to smoothen out the cloth. It was very difficult, especially in areas like the bow stem and the stern stems and also the bottom stern area. I used approximately 30 thumb tacks to keep the cloth in place.
Prior to the spread I vacuumed the inside and washed the hull with acetone cloth. I had a lot of debris from previous scraping and sanding so I wanted to have it clean.
I mixed up first batch of epoxy and used a 4" roller I cut my self. The 4" roller is the best for applying epoxy.
This was a hard work. Things went fine with the epoxy and I was able to control the cloth from 'bubbling'. There were some problems however. I did not vacuum well enough. Some fiberglass debris got caught under the cloth and created cream colored dots. Also the stem areas are not as smooth as I would want them to be. I will work with those during the second half of fiberglass application.
This morning when I checked on the work I would say I would give my self a B-
