Ha Ha! That's always the question, whether its finishing a boat or drywalling a room. How smooth is smooth enough.

The larger gaps (1/16") can be filled with slivers of wood, pick them up off the floor around your boat and try to match the colors. Glue them in with wood glue and sand them smooth after they dry.

The smaller gaps will fill fine with the epoxy when you glass. They will show up nicely in the dark if you hold a droplight under your boat.

Keep at it until you can't stand filling anymore then forget about it and move on to glassing.

Good luck!

: I am building a Wee Lassie and have just finished stripping the hull. There
: are several places where the strips didn't fit together real tight and you
: can see and feel a small grove between them. Do I need to fill these gaps
: before I glass? Thanks.
