I built a deck two summers ago just so I could buy a CMS. I wanted to get a sliding model but couldn't afford the price. I did spring for the 12" delta model vs the 10". It gives you that extra capacity to cross cut the stringers for stairs and/or ledgers but it also has more support than the 10" model.

There are lots of good ones out there if you want to spend more but not many for less than $200

: I'm in the market for a CMS for an upcoming deck project and it's been next
: on the wish list. Its not to build boats (well, not yet anyway) but I
: figured this crowd would have a good amount of advice and suggestions.

: I'm concidering the Delta 36-225 ($189).

: Anyone have any feedback on this model or can suggest an alternate in the
: same price range. Anyone here wanna sell a new one to me cheaper? :)
