Too Picky

On my 1st strip build, I used a palm sander to hit all the fills over the staple holes and any little cracks filled with dooky smootz. It felt great when I ran my hand over the deck, but then... I stood back to admire my work and OH Sh@T, I could see waveyness to the previously faired deck. I spent many hours with a fairing board working the deck back to its previous true fairness.

I was too picky about getting a smooth finish and wreeked havoc with the faired finish.

AHHH....live and learn
