Like Rehd said, wait for the tack to die, but you'll actually get a better bond between layers if you don't wait for full cure in the first.
Also like Rehd said, though, you probably don't need two layers inside. I'm hard on my boat and I only have a second layer inside the cockpit only...and no problems yet.

: Hi Rehd,
: Why the second layer? It is a good question. First I started the best I
: could, read and went with a good designer. But I was informed that 6oz.
: was the glass to use. So many said this and only this that i just took
: this 6oz E glass was the unquestioned glass to use. Since I've seen
: there's more to it. I am using 6oz now cause i bought it before I knew I
: had a choice. Today I would go 4oz or maybe even 3.5 oz satin (2 layers).
: I know more now, but really don't KNOW about glass and wood composite
: strength. I do want a light weight boat, but am always concerned about
: trade offs for strength with my bias being to have strength. Most builders
: reccomendations have been to use a "football" layer of glass
: over the outside hull full piece and also one under the inside hull full
: piece. I did it on the outside of my hull and am doing it on the inside
: hull. If I had 4oz glass i would definatly like these 2 dbl layers, but at
: it is I am not sure enough about strength to drop this "second"
: internal layer on the hull.
: I think what your saying is I can do the 2nd layer right away, but the glass
: will "catch" on the wet of the 1st layer and may become a mess
: to flatten only because of this. Good point, wonder if I could chance it
: cause I could just lay it in the with out moving much. Maybe wait until
: 1st layer is "set" first and then lay the 2nd. Wonder if I could
: lay both layers at the same time?? (Have already sealed the wood). Thanks.
