: many exposed rocks? Running rapids? Jumping up and down in the cockpit?

: Even if any of these actions is in your future, you'll find that the damge
: caused by any one or two such events should be easy to repair. You can add
: your next layer of glass as a permanent fix, after you take off the duct
: tape that would be your emergency patch.

Thanks. I have finally learned from your posts, something you have pointed out many times. Despite my wish to make this boat so that it will be FINISHED when I have built it, it will still be something I can or will want to add or modify or reenforce. So for now i will skip the 2nd layer football inside. Instead i put a 3" 9oz piece of tape into the fillet at the keel, and today will do the one layer of glass on the inside of the hull (second layer at cockpit bottom only). Thanks to all, for helping me save all that weight (I am more comfortable with wood, so I made my strips fine planned to 170 thousands to just save that little weight and it would be a shame to load this up with epoxy that added more weight than support.
