I recently have been a convert to cabinet scrappers to work the fill coats of epoxy. (Thanks to the posts on this site) I suppose it would be equally valued after an initial seal coat.

A word of caution though. You should really sand a little (60 grit?)after using a scraper to get a tooth for the next eposy layer to bond to.
