If you have to put your head in there then do yourself a favor and hang the boat upside down (rolled over). That way you can sit or stand upright while you work. Cutting/gluing in a close, dark space is hard enough without having to do it standing on your head :) I did a little work on my first boat that way. Put it on two saw horses or suspend it from four eye bolts and a length of sash cord (add two cleats if you want to get fancy).
