maybe checkout http://www.watersdancing.com (no I do not work for them, I know it is the 2nd time I've mentioned them, but it is the only kayak/canoe building shop I've ever been in.) The have 2 differenct S&G canoes. They have had them out for years, so they should be able to give some input on what they are like, of course it will be a biased opinion.
