That's what I thought of too. I used screws to hold my stems in place while the epoxy cured... Shaved a few pieces of candle scraps in a pie tin and melted them with my propane torch. Then threw in a dozen screws and fished them out with tweezers. When I went to back them out of the stems, they glided right out no problem. The star bit in my drill however was permanently glued into the holder :) No big deal but next time I'll wax it too. I covered the holes with plugs and they are barely visible.
