It is the Unangam Uluxtax replica, an "Aleut Baidarka". The stability would be fine for me, but I paddle a 20" wide kayak that I stood up in recently while playing around. At 22" wide it may be tippy for you. You could widen it, or go for a similar design that is already wider such as a Kodiak Island, or Bering Straight Two-Hole, these are more like 27-30" wide. Finding plans for these may be more difficult, but a lot of skin kayaks are not built from plans, they are built around their paddlers. Both Brink's and Morris's books would be good resources, but have no tandems. Zimmerly's book and site have a lot of offsets to guide you. Be patient with Zimmerly's site as sometimes it doesn't come up right away, you may have to try again later.
