: This one caught my eye. I've been wanting a grinder. I could get one for
: ~$29.99 at Home Depot or $389 at Japan Woodworker. Neither idea is
: particularly appealing to me. This one looks like it could be pretty fun.
: Periodically I peruse the German-made tool distributors (Peck and
: Diefenbacher). They've got good quality but the prices are better on most
: items. And sometimes they have totally unique stuff - like this. At $89.40
: I might have to go for it... any way to get exercise and save electricity
: at the same time has got to be good Anybody seen one before; it looks
: like it would last a lifetime.
Chip.
I have one. It is handy for sharpening chisels and that is about it. An electric bench grinder is way handier. I guess I like to be able to use two hands to hold whatever it is that I'm grinding. I picked up my hand powered grinder for $2.00 at a garage sale.
