I haven't tried sanding the whole thing down. I found sanding between coats bad enough during initial coating because the polyurethane is so tough. The marker idea is a good one, except I need to get the whole lot off, so I kind of need the marker to be between the epoxy and the polyurethane. The brand I used is sold in Queensland here in Australia and is called Aqua-Cote.
