Nice hybrid. I plan on a hybrid if I ever light somewhere long enough to build one. Till then, skin on frames about it.
Question - how think are those strips? I plan on 3/4 X 1/4 butt-joined for the deck with a cross brace or two in high load areas. I think that should do it.
Keep the pics coming!

: Here's a photo of my attic that has been converted from my wife's craftroom
: to a full blown boat building retreat. It's located in the addition I
: built and is about 500 sq.ft. of floor space (not all is useable though).
: The kayak is a S&G Chesapeake hull with a stripped deck. The hull is done
: except for primer and paint. The deck is made up of walnut, pine,
: mohagany, and many types of cedar. Almost all of the deck is made from
: recycled (used) boards that I already had. I ripped the strips on a $40
: used tablesaw and routed bead and coves. I realize that stripping the deck
: this way takes longer and this boat will weigh a bit more, but I like the
: way it's turning out. The kayak will slip out the end window with a pulley
: and rope to a swingset outside, and I will start the next one. It's not an
: addiction.

: Sorry this picture is so big, I need to reduce the size in PhotoShop or
: something.
