You get what you pay for.

Good PFD's are expensive, but your life is valuable. They're a bit overpriced, yes, but a quality PFD will be more likely to be worn (when it's really needed--always) than a cheapo PFD which chafes and gets removed and shoved under the bungies.

I love my Lotus Rio Grande.

Stohlquist and Kokatat make nice vests, too.

Check MEC.ca for some good deals on (Canadian approved) Palm vests.

Extrasport has good bang for the buck.
