Do you mean some kind of linseed or teak oil? Oil and wax is my first choice for interior furniture (particularly cherry) however it is not well suited to exterior uses. It will provide just about zero UV protection, little abrasion resistance and require continuous maintainence. I used to have a sailboat with a lot of teak that we oiled and it`s kind of a PITA,(IMHO).
