Skin-on-Frame: spruce
I am building a Nimrod 12 canoe ( a Platt Monfort design)
and need to find the right wood for the frame and ribs.
I am looking for input on using spruce for the frame and
can I get away with using kiln dried spruce lumber from
the local Home Depot ?
will I be able to soak and steam it enough to bend it?
or do I have to use air dried lumber only ?
if I have to use air dried, do does anyone know of a source north or Boston?
thanks
