yah i guess you're right rehd, it would take more time than the butt, but the setup is the same as the butt. For the butt you lay the 2 pcs down in their correct orientation, clamp and glue on the back pc of scrap or couple layers of glass. For this method you do the same as above but take the disk sander or flex disc in the variable speed drill and roughly dish out for 1 1/2 in each side of the join line - so it sorta looks like a scarf going in each direction from the join line. then the layers of glass about 3 in wide. guess at 3-6 lyrs of 6 oz, 3 prob ok.
the scarf method is by far the hardest, and more exacting - much less room for error. and needs a good edge on the bench or whatever rest is used to help get that consistent thin edge?
when i make some of my s&g ideas, i'll for sure use this method but most likely add the double cutting for more interesting joins. seems like the most flexible way.
