Gosh didn't want to make anyone feel guilty. Actually, I thought it was pretty cool idea. wood on the bottom canvas on the top, sort of a new kind of hybrid! Light weight etc. Its also not an either or thing. You could paddle it this summer pull the canvas off and strip the deck next winter, and then use the deck canvas for the first part of your SOF. or.....your right! there is always that next boat....

Finished putting my first piece of greenstone in the bidarka. I found the rock on a seclude beach on Block island... I need some more I'm going to make the harpoons out of the same and strip them in. Guess I'll have to go back and find another one. I love it when boat building provides excuses to go paddling.
