Ah yes mon ami.
I do indeed remember rural inclination lived out in city blocks.....

I remember gutting a raccoon behind a school yard and getting arrested because someone had called the cops and told them a big tall guys was gutting a baby....Then when they discovered it wasn't a baby...They figured it was a satanic ritual, and no amount of explaining was getting the point across that "in my country" such things were an honorable hobby....

Picturing you trying to build in your bathroom of an Ciy apt, reminds me of the night I found a fresh road kill coming back into town. So at 3AM I wrapped the blody thing in a sheet and dragged it blood trail and all into the townhouse up a flight of stairs etc. (Impressing my roomates no end) And had to butcher it in the bathtub..... Next mmorning I tossed the bones and remains into a dumpster at work. Late in the afternoon every cop shop bubble light in the area was out at the dumpster they were finger printing the garbage bag and collecting hte bones....They thought it was crime scene. I was torn between fessing up and saving everyone the trouble or.... Sitting quietly looking out the window laughing at the scene as guys who couldn't tell human remains from a whitetail skelaton suited up in Demort suit to dive the dumpster. Never one to make waves...LOL I opted to watch the show.

I remember testing out scuba gear in public fountians and in bathtubs, becuase there was no place urban to dive in.

Eric, some where in all of this (I think it was when the cop said drop the knife and back away from the body) I knew I'd be heading back to more natural environemnt later in life. I did get around to it... eventually. Sounds to me like your coping just fine! I have heard of folks building yaks in high rises and dining rooms etc, but never in a bathroom. My admiration for your trying to realize the dream in such a setting is huge! Bravo! Living large is a state of mind not an address.

Having said that I am wishing you at some point 2500 square feet of shop space and also advising you if any of your "rural momnets involve animal cadavers, don't leave any finger prints :D

As for my lungs I am very willing to give them to any museum who wants them. Yeah I am a safty guy. On dusty rips I wear the mask for dusty jobs like ripping etc, but most of what I do is whitle file and saw. For that he safty gear is siting where I can grab it. As for my creativity I think it was in this case limited by my lack of vision. A kayak built in a bathroom.....IT is I who congradulate you.

I long ago took Rehds idea and put a cot in the shop. Couch actually, Not all that different from having a boat in the bathroom, I guess.

Hang in there your island and your boat is just off shore of your dreams and I'm guessing with nothing but a transom and a stem to begin with, your already half way there.
